We are seeking a motivated and talented Junior Atmospheric Aerosol Scientist to join our team at Next Phase Solutions and Services, Inc. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with less than three years of experience to gain valuable hands-on experience in atmospheric aerosol research and analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with senior scientists and researchers on exciting projects in collaboration with NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration).

Responsibilities:

 Assist in conducting research and analysis on to atmospheric aerosols, including their sources, distribution, composition, and effects on climate and air quality.

Participate in field studies and experiments to collect atmospheric aerosol data using various instruments and techniques.

Assist in the analysis of observational data sets, including satellite, ground-based, and model-derived data, under the guidance of senior scientists.

Contribute to the development and application of numerical models and simulations to study atmospheric aerosols and their interactions with the atmosphere.

Support interdisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and stakeholders in addressing environmental and climate-related challenges.

Assist in preparing written reports, scientific publications, presentations, and outreach materials to communicate research findings.

Stay informed about advances in atmospheric science, aerosol measurement techniques, and modeling methodologies through literature review and training opportunities.

Contingency Note:

This position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract. While we are optimistic about the outcome, the final confirmation of the position is subject to contract approval. Next Phase is a member of the incumbent team.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science, or a related field

Less than three years of professional experience in atmospheric aerosol research or a closely related field

Basic knowledge of aerosol physics, chemistry, and dynamics, with a strong interest in advancing understanding in these areas

Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar for data analysis, visualization, and modeling

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders

Enthusiasm for learning and a desire to contribute to cutting-edge research in atmospheric science and environmental sustainability

Required Qualifications:

Must be US citizens or green card holders and have established residency in the US for the past three (3) years. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
