Conexess Group is aiding a national client in their search for a Staff Data Architect/DBA.

The Opportunity

As a Data Architect, you'll play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence with our dynamic teams. Collaborating closely with product, design, architects, and engineers, you'll lead the design, implementation and ongoing management of our data resources and cutting-edge solutions. Your contributions will be instrumental in the advancement of our platform, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and innovation. Responsibilities:

· Data Modeling: Understand current data utilization, methods and models in order to architect a new data model that supports current product capabilities including reporting and future data analysis.

· Governance: Develop and enforce data governance policies and best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance.

· Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, designers, architects and platform engineers to define scope and drive the implementation of new features from conception to release.

· Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate and enhance the data architecture to adapt to evolving business needs.

· Leadership: Provide leadership and strategic direction for data-related projects and initiatives.

· Quality Assurance: Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all data systems and processes.

· Audits & Assessments: Conduct regular assessments and audits of the data architecture and related processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.

· Hands-on Administration: Responsible for ensuring data sources are being backed up and restorable. Ensure monitoring is in place and analyze metrics on a regular basis to guarantee up-time, recognize anomalous activity, and forecast possible issues by observing changes in resource utilization patterns.

· Hands-on Assistance: Work with engineers to develop stored procedures, troubleshoot existing ORM performance issues, and aid in the retrieval of data for troubleshooting. Assist in platform deployments to ensure that database upgrades run smoothly and ensure that data is being populated as expected.

· Database Design and Performance Tuning: Familiar with AWS RDS and Serverless SQL clusters. Will be responsible for building views, access patterns, and stored procedures for performant and secure data access by the application later.

· Disaster Recovery: Responsible for data fix and realtime database rollback plan to manage data corruption. Responsible for maintaining backup and restore strategy for the databases.

· Cost Management: responsible for maintaining and extending cost control automation for the data sources.

· Quicksights Visualizations: Quicksights is used for both internal and external reporting, which will require updates and maintenance.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

· 5-7+ years of proven experience as a Data Architect/DBA in an AWS environment.

· Extensive experience in data modeling, database design, data governance, and data warehousing.

· Experience in managing and optimizing databases with MySQL, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Athena, and Postgres.

· Strong knowledge of AWS cloud platform including services such as RDS, Redshift, S3 and Quicksight.

· Proficient in performance tuning, query optimization, database backup and recovery procedures.

· Proven leadership and communication skills.

· Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
