Thompson Software Solutions is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer who is ready to work with a talented team to provide innovative solutions for tomorrow’s problems. The successful candidate will be a member of a high-performing multi-site team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. In this role, you will work independently at times on projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other software engineers, as well as other program development and deployment teams.

Selected applicant will be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and must maintain eligibility for continued access to classified information throughout their employment as required by the job.

What you will be doing

Develop, integrate and test software products

Use technical principals, theories, and concepts on all projects.

What We Need To See

  Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline

  10+ years of C/C++ software development experience

  Prior experience writing embedded software (C, C++, and/or Ada)

  Experience with real-time operating system integration

  Prior experience troubleshooting/debugging on target hardware in lab/mock-up environments

  Proficient with Linux and Windows development environments

  Ability to professionally communicate project status and collaborate on technical solutions with clients and peers

  Experience with incorporating independently developed algorithms into embedded software

  Full lifecycle software development experience

  Active Secret DoD security clearance

Ability to work onsite 100%

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd

Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps tools and CI/CD workflow (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)

Proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.)

Proficient in Python development

Familiarity with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (Cameo, AADL)

Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), ARINC 653 and flight software development

Experience with safety-critical software development and practices (DO-178C)

Experience communicating and documenting complex technical designs

Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Requirements

?        Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline

?        UML, MATLAB and Simulink experience

?        Experience with Digital Simulation development and integration

?        Experience with Embedded Software development and integration on target software

?        Experience with Full Software Development Cycle

?        Proficient with Linux and Windows development environments

?        Ability to professionally communicate project status and collaborate on technical solutions with clients and peers

?        Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps tools and CI/CD workflow (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)

?        Active Secret DoD security clearance
