Job Description

Manage, operate, maintain, and administer the base voice system to include but not limited to the network table and networking plan for multiple systems; additions; deletions; modifications to user’s voice system resources; password resets; distribution list; vacation schedule tables; daylight savings time; synchronization with the phone switch; proper functioning of auto attendant feature. 

Support diagnostic, maintenance, programming changes on current software applications, and performing system backups of system configuration and data. 

Operate and maintain the day-to-day operations of the music on-hold service using the Air Force News Agency “Air Force Radio News on Hold” service that will feed into the CAFB switch. 

Operate and maintain the Avaya AS5300 voice system and associated equipment to ensure full functionality of licensed services and calling and dialing capabilities. 

Operate and maintain the installation’s ACD to include: reconfiguration; blocking and busying out trunks; configuring and modifying call routing; monitoring system operations; updating firmware; initiating least cost routing; updating the dial plan; and other related services to operate and maintain the ACD system. 

Operate and maintain CAIRS system for all call accounting and voice system record updates. 

Ensure managed voice System Message Detailed Recording (SMDR) information is compatible for feeding into CAIRS. 

Produce semi-annually system capacity records for the voice switch and remotes as applicable.  

Operate, maintain, administer and configure all devices from the core, distribution and access points to desktops that are within the Columbus network enclave (i.e., switches, routers, servers, VoIP switches).  

Apply DISA STIGs and vendor configurations in accordance with set guidelines and schedule using system security plan (SSP) and with WCO validation as applied for servers. 

Manage the government Network Management Systems (NMSs) and Base Information Protect (BIP) area. 

Manage IP address (i.e., subnets, DHCP) providing request response within three days to any requesting agency. 

Perform network and circuit baseline and quality check test and evaluation for interfaces and connections between infrastructure devices to include uptime, available bandwidth, throughput, traffic collisions, latency, and other related requirements in accordance with manufacturer’s standards.

Provide reports to 14 CS/CC on quarterly basis to include trends and root cause analysis. 

Provide VPN client installation, assistance, troubleshooting, and configurations to local client system administrators as requested.  

Coordinate encryption key changes between the client and VPN server to maintain capability. 

Operate, maintain, administer, manage, and document all service access points (AP) to and from CAFB networks in accordance with the applicable accreditation package and AF standards.  

Install, remove, and replace all wireless equipment connected to the CAFB network and is responsible for touch maintenance of wireless equipment as required and directed by DoDIN Ops Center.  

Provide real-time situational awareness of wireless AP availability using AIS to 14 CS/CFP and generate tickets for all AP with “down” status and work issue through resolution.  

Provide Tier I and Tier II support to units with DoD and AF authorized WLANs running on CAFB. 

Provide Tier II troubleshooting actions on government-furnished mobile voice devices to meet AF mission needs. 

Provide and perform Tier II support to base users, unit CLs, and system administrators with application, operation, security, installation and administration of hardware, software, specialized applications, standard desktop and mobile devices, and secure systems.
