Job Requirements / Description
We are looking for a DevOps engineer that will streamline the software development lifecycle to improve developer productivity, delivery speed, and code quality. They will work closely with development, architects, operations and security teams to identify and improve process pain points and inefficiencies for delivery. They will be familiar with various tools and development tools/processes including Jenkins, Kubernetes, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployments, and Groovy/Python coding with unit testing. In specific cases, knowledgeable on Agile/iterative development methodologies will be required (and called out).
Key Responsibilities
Develop infrastructure software for CI/CD
Identify automation opportunities within current SDLC process.
Develop code for infrastructure cloud automation
Build and support large scale distributed systems
Evangelize best practices in infrastructure development
Deliver frictionless Cloud infrastructure experience
Design, Implementation and document to review with all stakeholders.
Promote DevOps principles and culture across the software engineering organization
Support and improve our tools for continuous build, automated testing and release management.
Skills and Experience:
Windows and Linux server administration
Java, python and object-oriented development skills
Strong Ansible, bash scripting and Terraform Skills
Jenkins
Kubernetes
CI/CD Tools - Atlassian Products Bitbucket, Crowd, Confluence, Artifactory, SonarQube and ECR
Experience with build processes, repository managers and branching concepts.
Good working knowledge of Concourse CI/CD
Event Driven Systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, etc)
Strong SQL query knowledge
Observability (Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana & Thanos)
Git (Branch, Rebase, Merge, Tag, etc)
RDBMS and NoSQL (MySQL, Postgres, Dynamo etc)
Networking (UDP, TCP, Routing)
AWS (EKS, Sage Maker, EC2, S3, Lamda, Cloudfront)
Public Cloud (AWS preferred)
Agile – Scrum/Kanban
Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability as a problem-solver
Working knowledge in security and performance
Working knowledge in CI (continuous integration)
Working knowledge of CSS pre-processors ie: LESS, SASS
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent applied experience.
2+ years of relevant DevOps experience.
2+ years of experience in software engineering.
