Title: Project Manager 3 (Non-IT)
Location: Vancouver, WA (hybrid)
Duration: 12-month Contract (with possible extensions up to 5 years)
Pay Range: $ 69.03 $ 72.26 per hour
The Project Manager plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define project objectives & oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Position Responsibilities:
Direct & manage project development from beginning to end, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
Define project scope, goals & deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Estimate resources & participants needed to achieve project goals.
Set &continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
Identify & resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
Identify & manage project dependencies and critical path.
Plan & schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
Track project milestones & deliverables.
Develop & deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Determine frequency & content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Define project success criteria & disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
Coach, mentor, & motivate project team members to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Build, develop, & grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Develop best practices & tools for project execution and management.
Position Requirements:
Education & Corresponding Experience
A bachelor's degree in economics, business administration or management, organizational development, engineering, computer science, or other technical related discipline is preferred.
10 years of experience is required with a bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
12 years of experience is required with a bachelor's degree in a non-applicable field.
14 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree.
Experience should be in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
Required Technical Skills & Experience
Knowledge of product management as well as process management.
Strong analytic skills and the ability to perform root cause identification/analysis.
Experience influencing and integrating change in a large, diverse organization.
Experience leading project teams, management review, and decision-making sessions supporting organization level improvement efforts.
Experience managing projects in accordance with industry project management principles.
Ability to organize and analyze detailed information and present it in a variety of formats for business, executive, and technical audiences.
Ability to assess and estimate project costs.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience in the utility business.
PMI or PMP certification.
Experience in resource planning.
