Seeking for a Network Engineer in Redmond, WA(Onsite)
What the Client is Looking For:
The client is seeking an optical networking expert with hands-on experience in DWDM technologies and components, particularly in troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading large-scale optical networks. The ideal candidate should be proficient in vendor-specific technologies from Ciena, Infinera, and Cisco, and have a deep understanding of optical amplifiers, transponders, and network design concepts like OSNR and FEC. Familiarity with FCAPS functionalities and network management tools is also important.
Well-versed with the Optical technologies/concepts:
Min 6-10 years of Hands-on experience on working on Optical DWDM line systems from Ciena, Infinera, Cisco, etc
DWDM, EDFA Vs RAMAN amplifiers, ROADM, FOADM, Optical Transponders, Optical Coherent technology, ASE, OSNR, FEC, Different fiber types, Non-Linear effects, Different modulation schemes (16QAM, 8QAM, etc), Dispersion
Good understanding of FCAPS functionalities
Expertise in troubleshooting Optical DWDM networks
Experience in software upgrades in large networks
Soft Skills:
ITIL process understanding(ITIL Certification Preferred)
Excellent spoken English
Good technical document writing skills
Experience in working in cross team environment across diff time zones
Experience in driving meetings with customers
