Job Summary
We are seeking a Principal Data Architect with deep technical and analytical expertise in enterprise systems architecture and software. The successful candidate will work closely with senior business and technical staff to develop, maintain, and communicate a cohesive systems architecture strategy. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with cloud architecture, cloud-native application development, and production cloud infrastructure implementations, particularly with AWS and/or DataBricks. This role includes providing architectural guidance on cloud-native applications, infrastructure design, capacity planning, functionality and load testing, and cloud automation.
Key Responsibilities
Architect Cloud Solutions: Design and develop cloud-native applications and infrastructure, leveraging expertise in AWS and/or DataBricks platforms.
Cloud Automation: Configure and optimize cloud automation frameworks, including implementing Terraform templates and modules.
CI/CD Pipelines: Design and implement complex CI/CD pipelines for diverse user bases.
Innovation and Efficiency: Drive technical innovation and improve efficiency in cloud infrastructure operations through automation scripting and API integration.
System Architecture: Develop and maintain comprehensive systems architectures, frameworks, and application interfaces.
Technical Review: Review and approve technical designs to ensure compliance with standards and architectural requirements.
Consultation: Provide expert consultation and assist project teams in formulating robust solutions.
Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on the business.
Technical Standards: Develop, monitor, and enforce technical standards and specifications to facilitate accurate coding and scripting.
Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and develop metrics to measure system performance.
Data Security: Apply knowledge of vulnerabilities related to data transfer to enhance data security and integrity.
Qualifications
Cloud Platforms Expertise: Advanced knowledge of AWS and/or DataBricks cloud platforms.
Terraform IaC: Expert proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
Cloud-Native Development: Extensive experience in building and deploying cloud-native applications.
CI/CD Pipelines: Proven experience in creating CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard automation tools.
Unix/Linux: Strong understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems and container management in public clouds.
Design & Security: Solid experience in designing for security, performance, capacity, and maintainability, using industry design patterns and best practices.
Software Development Lifecycle: Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Python, Java, and Spark.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience Required
Proven track record in developing and deploying applications in public cloud environments.
Hands-on experience with cloud automation using IaC tools like Terraform.
AWS/Azure Certification preferred.
Experience with Linux/Unix systems and performance tuning.
Strong shell scripting skills.
Experience with large-scale IaaS platforms and data analytics stacks.
Experience Required
