DevOps Engineer - Application Support Engineer
Highlights:
Onsite 2 days a week in Stanford, CT (preference), Charlotte NC ( 2nd preference), or Branchville, NJ (3rd preference) hybrid Prefer Tuesdays and Thursdays
Must Haves: (based on our qual call)
" Ability to work independently, out of the box thinker, make suggestions on improvements and come up with solutions. Good comm skills.
" Build pipelines and automate workflows as a core strength to support infrastructure upgrades; as upgrading more servers in the future, the job will be more about how to automate Azure in the cloud.
" Strength in .Net - 5-7 years
" Understand Windows technologies such as how to install JBoss and Apache Tomcat
" Application delivery background such as installing applications and configuring databases, not building windows servers.
" Ability to build pipelines and automate workflows as core strength to support through infrastructure upgrades, with an understanding that more DevOps work to come in the future; so must be comfortable knowing for the time being it will be supporting the upgrades.
" Culture fit very important with ability to execute objectives and work in a team environment.

Selective is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in managing and supporting diverse technologies and frameworks, with a primary focus on ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Tech Stack Management:
Must Haves:
Ability to work independently, out of the box thinker and make suggestion on improvements, good comm skills.
Azure DevOps in building pipelines and automating workflows as a core strength to support infrastructure upgrades; as upgrading more servers in the future, the job will be more about how automate Azure in the cloud.
Strength in Windows .Net - 5-7 years
Technical Skills:
Azure DevOps Pipelines: Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines.
Windows Server Management: Maintain and optimize Windows Server environments.
Application Middleware: Manage and support Microsoft IIS, JBoss, and Apache Tomcat.
Database Management: Proficient in SQL Server, including upgrades to SQL Database (SQL 2019/2022).
PowerShell Scripting: Develop scripts for automation and system management.
Vendor Application Upgrades: Oversee upgrades for applications such as Oracle Docmaker and Pega.
Monitoring Non-Functional Requirements: Utilize monitoring tools to ensure performance, scalability, and security.
ITIL Practices: Implement Asset Management and Change Management processes.
Nice to Have:
Azure Cloud Infrastructure / Azure CLI: Experience managing resources in Azure.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in ARM or Bicep for managing infrastructure.
Linux Administration: Basic understanding of Linux systems.
Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with Firewall and Load Balancer configurations.
Database Experience: Knowledge of Oracle databases.
ITIL Practices: Experience with Problem Management and Incident Management.
Collaboration and Planning:
Collaborate with internal teams, including Windows Admins, Linux Admins, Database Admins, IT Security, Networking, Tools, and Monitoring teams.
Plan and organize installations and configurations for on-premise servers to meet business needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in a DevOps role with a focus on application support.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
