Job Requirements / Description
Your role is to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's data and information systems. Our ideal candidate has 7-10 years of systems administration experience and is comfortable supporting virtualization and security.
Responsibilities for the Sr System Administrator
Manage, maintain, and secure IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, virtualization, and network devices, ensuring proper configuration, updates, and patches for vulnerabilities and corporate compliance.
Responsible for implementing and maintaining IT policies and security measures across the organization's IT systems.
Respond to security threats and incidents in a timely manner to contain the threat, mitigate risks, and restore normal operations.
Investigate security incidents and breaches, analyzing root causes, assessing the impact, and implementing corrective actions and remediation.
Conduct regular security audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls, identify gaps and vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements.
Support backup and recovery operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, data recovery, and failover procedures.
Provide documentation and technical support to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT systems and infrastructure.
Responsible for asset management, patch management, storage planning, network performance and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the Sr System Administrator
Bachelor's degree in information technology, or equivalent experience required.
Have 7-10 years of system administration experience.
IT certifications in Microsoft, Security or other related fields are a plus.
Experience with VMWare, Palo Alto Firewalls and Endpoint Security software.
Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and data recovery processes.
$90-$100k, onsite 3 days per week
