Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12 + month contract position.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals
Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements
Code solutions, unit tests, and ensure the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces
Contribute to story refinement/defining requirements
Participate and guide team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle
Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
Utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements
Assist team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work
Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause
Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality
Participate, contribute, and can coach team members in the delivery/release (CI-CD) events, e.g. branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes
Participate in or supports delivery of architecture designs and implementations
Understand all roles and responsibilities within their team and uses the tool sets within the software lifecycle
Contribute to artifacts needed for governance forums; understand stakeholder expectations and creates regular updates to keep stakeholders informed
Actively participate in planning ceremonies
Track the effectiveness of solutions through KPI's; incorporates technical and financial factors when comparing different approaches to solutions
Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to design and develop significant components within an application; has performed code reviews
Proficient in designing, developing, and executing test cases
Knowledge of Test Automation and tools
Ability to perform or support continuous integration and deployment activities within their role
Understanding and appreciation for DevOps culture
Possesses an understanding of architecture and banking standards
Basic awareness of products, services, business flows and strategy
Understand risks and can apply the controls necessary to mitigate; know when to escalate risks
Basic understanding of financial data and the impact that their role has within a team
Ability to complete a task/story against plan/sprint commitment
Demonstrate working knowledge of Agile/Waterfall frameworks
Possesses knowledge of prior solutions to existing problems and applies them to solve similar problems
Collaborate within a team; seek ways to develop cross-team collaboration skills and build trust
Ability to participate in discussions, process information and appreciate a viewpoint
