Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our interns will have the flexibility of working 2 days remotely, and 3 days in office per week at one of our state-of-the-art offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and New York City. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place. The QA Software Engineering Team is hiring a Web QA Software Engineer intern:
We are seeking to fill an internship position where the right candidate will help develop innovative tests to ensure stability in our trading system over web tools used by our trade desk and our market makers. We have around 370 different internal and customer facing web tools critical to our daily operations. You will script, develop, and refactor tests to verify the validity of URLs throughout our system, utilizing Python, Postgres, Jenkins, Django, and React.
Your responsibilities and learning objectives will be:
Design and refactor existing tests and tools for the project.
Collaborate with systems to update our current software.
Develop and rigorously test our solutions.
Gain an understanding of our tools, frameworks, and interactions with exchanges.
Present and market your solution to our QA, Data Pipeline Engineering, and web software teams.
The ideal candidate has: You’ll really stand out with:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place.
Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
Experience with Python and/or Java or other object-oriented language
Comfortable with working in a Linux/Unix terminal and knowledge of at least one scripting language preferred.
Self-directed, self-motivated.
