JOB SUMMARY

The Admissions and Marketing Data Analyst is a new position on the Enrollment Technology & Analytics team.

 

This position will serve as the primary source of data analytics and reporting for three teams within Enrollment Management: Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, and Enrollment Marketing and Communications.

 

The Analyst will be responsible for creating, maintaining, distributing, and analyzing reports and dashboards containing relevant information on recruiting trends, territory funnels, scholarship applicants, marketing campaigns, digital engagement including from Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Pardot, admissions applications, and competitor business intelligence.

 

These reports will typically be created in IBM Cognos Analytics and Salesforce. This position will also work collaboratively with academic units, including school and college leadership teams, recruiters and program directors.

 

In addition, this position will be tasked with analyzing program demand for existing and new academic programs, including labor market trends, competitor enrollment and degree completion intelligence, and pricing.

 

Finally, the Analyst will be responsible for training admissions and enrollment marketing staff on utilizing Salesforce, IBM Cognos Analytics, and other enrollment-related software effectively to recruit, enroll and retain prospective students. While they will not be in a student-facing role, they will need to understand recruitment strategy in order to lead the functional analysis and requirements refinement of mission-critical technologies.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Admissions data analytics and reporting

Develop, maintain and distribute regular reporting to Admissions teams, including the Director of Graduate Admissions and the Director of Undergraduate Admissions

Ensure that admissions counselors and graduate recruiters are equipped with solid intelligence about their recruits and territories each cycle

Respond to ticket requests for reporting updates, data quality questions, and access to reports and dashboards

Undertake data analytics projects on a semi-regular basis in collaboration with functional experts in Enrollment Management, and on occasion collaboratively with other departments such as ITS and Office of Financial Planning and Budget

Coordinate data intake processes, such as name buys and RFI submissions, to efficiently get new data into the CRM (Salesforce) as soon as possible

 

Marketing analytics

Set up reporting structures for marketing campaigns, including emails from Salesforce Marketing Cloud, text messages from Mogli, and other outreach methods

Collaborate with the Director of Enrollment Marketing & Communications to create a data roadmap to equip the team with actionable insights

Provide consultation to the Marketing, Insights and Communications (MIC) website team related to web analytics, digital metrics, and goal-setting for lead generation
 

Training, empowerment, and documentation

Compile training documentation and oversee training plans for data related to admissions and enrollment marketing

Lead and advise implementation projects for new data-related technology platform

Provide advanced functional troubleshooting to quickly resolve data or reporting issues

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

At least three years of professional experience involving data analysis or SQL-based report writing. A background in marketing or digital analytics, or higher education recruiting and enrollment may be substituted for a portion of this required experience.

The equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

Work with CRM technology including Salesforce, mass communications software such as Marketing Cloud or Pardot

Working in fast-paced technology cycles

Deriving actionable insights from complex data sets
