Job purpose:

ServiceNow HRSD Sr. Development Engineer provides input to multi-year roadmap for Honda’s ServiceNow Platform, including consultation on platform expansion, customer growth, service implementation timing as well as lends technical expertise to platform configuration/development standards. This role works with various project stakeholders and process owners to ensure solution are sounds, cost effective to meet business needs. Key to delivering a high level of IT Services across the region, they will provide technical direction in the design and architecture support to medium to large-sized projects, establish relationship with IT and HR leaders, architecture and vendor partners to help advance IT solutions, integrations and services. This engineering development role collaborates and leads business relationship within and outside of AHM IT.

Key Accountabilities:

Achieve goals for areas of responsibility.

Provide consultation to the business and customer for both internal and external on the technical possibilities of ServiceNow.

Ensure projects are successfully completed and IT business operational target are achieved by working closely with process owners, managers, ServiceNow, vendor teams, and development team members.

Responsible for development and configuration design by development team members through mentorship and code review.

Maintain Honda’s ServiceNow HRSD Platform.

Stay current on ServiceNow HRSD products and applicable integrated technologies.

Develop, test, and implement new capabilities on the ServiceNow DEV/PROD platform.

Troubleshoot ServiceNow related issues and manage a ticketing queue for complex or escalated issues.

Oversee and maintain performance of ServiceNow instance.

Maintain and manage large discovery environments using multiple MID servers.

Migrate code through environments and resolve version conflicts.

Create and maintain ServiceNow Portal and related widgets.

Write and maintain client/UI and server-side business logic scripts.

Develop and maintain UI Policies, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Macros, Data Policies, ACLs, Notifications.

Facilitate technical management of the ServiceNow HRSD Application Lifecycle.

Work with platform team to manage application lifecycle through planning and implementing a strong maintenance plan including regular cloning of QA, Dev, and Prod instances and upgrades regularly to N-1.

Maintain synchronization of instances, coordinate with process owners and development teams, and ensure appropriate testing and release processes.

Build integrations and flows by leveraging features of the ServiceNow platform.

Research and implement new features, technologies and methodologies.

Collaborate with peers to benchmark and bring best practices forward for world class networking and orchestration solutions. 

Maintain high level of skills in ever changing platform & mentor current and future ServiceNow developers, process owners, and users.

Facilitate the technical design of processes needed to sustain current and grow future ServiceNow functionality while gaining valuable experience in modern systems, processes and software development.

Develop and mentor team members in skill development and design thinking.

Encourage innovative thinking while balancing standards for the ServiceNow HRSD. 

Work together with other Honda Leaders to provide input for the direction and vision of IT Services enabled through the ServiceNow HRSD module.

Provide technical leadership and best practice input for Honda’s ServiceNow HRSD multi-year roadmap to meet business needs of faster delivery, quality, and cost effectiveness.

Participate in and recommend on-going continuous improvement for the region.

Work closely with team members and process owners to guide the delivery of services and processes through best practices in ServiceNow and leading benchmark efforts. 

Education / Certifications: 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience. 

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (Preferred)

ITIL Certification (Preferred)

ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (Preferred)

Qualifying requirements:

8 to 10 years of work experience in the design and implementation of IT solutions

8 or more years of work experience on ServiceNow, Database, Enterprise Level Service Platforms, of which 3 or more years of work experience on ServiceNow HRSD

Advanced working knowledge with ServiceNow Platform Model

Deep understanding of ServiceNow APIs especially GlideRecord

Application integrations experience using APIs, web services, scripts and transform maps such as REST and SOAP

Understanding of Authentication methods including SSO, LDAP, SAML

Complex Integration experience and an understanding of the underlying technologies

Strong automation skills in Workflow Studio and Flow Designer

Proficient in ServiceNow ITSM knowledge - Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Service Catalog management processes, Agile project management and Performance Analytics/ Dashboards

Understanding of HR Service Delivery (HRSD) related to common service level agreement (SLA) measurements.

Experience with creating and maintaining scripted REST APIs with expertise in out-of-box APIs such as the Table API.

Builder/component development and Test Management and Automated Test Framework are all a plus

Comfortable in discussing issues, strategy and negotiating with project managers.
