:
The Systems Administrator will provide technical leadership to team members, manage small technical projects, monitor help desk service levels and resolve issue escalations from Help Desk staff.  The Systems Administrator will also manage/monitor the Servers, Virtual Machines, Storage & Backup infrastructure and work closely with the Enterprise Services Manager to propose and implement new solutions to enable the business. The Systems Administrator will also support the Enterprise Services Manger to effectively scope project statements of work (SOWs) and ensure all contracts are reviewed/renewed annually.

What you’ll be doing::
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages and maintains Active Directory, messaging (client/server), servers, VMware, storage, and backups infrastructure

Provides Tier II, III and other support to end users; troubleshoots issues on all software/systems/applications

Manages and configure container cluster environment

Manages and maintains, Anti-Spam (Proofpoint) infrastructures, network printers/printer servers and workstation images

Manages and maintain file transfer system and cloud storage solutions

Monitors all systems for virus attacks-Eradicate viruses as required

Reviews all vendor recommended Operating System security patches and ensure deployment of all monthly critical/high security patches; applies security and hot patches on a quarterly basis, upgrades administrative tools and utilities; configures and add new services as necessary

Completes daily backup (or as needed) to SAN operation environment, and various development, quality control, user testing environments. Ensures required file systems and system data are successfully replicated or backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary

Design and test server operating systems’ security, hot patches and upgrades on a quarterly basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary. Document changes to reflect current running environment

Test new operating systems version, design and document upgrade plan, including but not limited to time line, priority, migration and testing. Document changes to reflect current running environment.

Analyze computer systems performance, included but not limited to server hardware, desktops, laptops, IT mobile devices upgrades, and virtual machines resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required. Document changes to reflect current running environment

Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, SAN systems, other systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs

Installs new or rebuilds existing servers and configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements

Sets up, configures, manages and maintains Domain accounts, systems/servers, desktop computers, printers including security policy/access management and control     

Provides Tier 2/3 support for end-user issues (desktop support)

Keeps inventory of systems equipment, operating system levels, and accurate inventory of all shipped and received hardware and software

Maintains record of security certificates, software licenses, maintenance agreements and warranties

Keeps up-to-date diagrams of infrastructure and connections at all sites

Performs periodic performance and capacity planning and reporting

Assists application development and application support personnel in resolving technical problems

What we’re looking for::
QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

5+ years' experience providing infrastructure server, messaging, M365, Storage system administration services

5+ years’ experience working with DR/Continuity solutions such as EMC RPA, VMware SRM, Zert0

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field is required

Certifications in Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in Linux, certifications beneficial

Proficiency Managing Containers on premises or Azure

Proficiency in Microsoft Server 2012, 2016, and 2019, certifications beneficial

Proficiency in Microsoft Exchange 2010, 2013, M365, certifications beneficial

Proficiency in Active Directory design and administration

Proficiency in Azure Active Directory, M365 tools administration

Proficiency in VMware vSphere, virtual infrastructure and server implementation

Proficiency in Symantec Backup Exec - experience with Data Domain a plus

Proficiency in Fiber Channel SAN implementations and storage management

Proficiency in WAN/LAN/WLAN/VPN networking concepts and troubleshooting

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Demands:
Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
