SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) Advisor (Remote)

 

 

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) Advisor for a Remote opportunity. The manager is looking for a candidate with Database Management and Optimization expertise using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

 

Required Qualifications of the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) Advisor:

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.

Bachelor or Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree

12 years of IT Experience including at least 6 years of Government Contracting experience

Must have MS SQL Server experience

Must have experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

Database Management and Optimization: Expertise in database design, performance tuning, and using tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

Backup and Recovery: Proficiency in setting up automated backups, performing restores, and ensuring data protection using SQL Server’s native features and third-party tools.

Security Management: Strong understanding of database security, including user permissions, encryption, and auditing to safeguard data.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR): Skills in configuring and managing high availability solutions like Always On Availability Groups and clustering to ensure continuous database availability.

Responsibilities of the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) Advisor:

Serve as a technical expert resource within IT in planning, strategizing and developing resource requirements and direction for applications, architecture and/or infrastructure.

Check system and database health, review logs, backups, and performance metrics to ensure everything is functioning smoothly

Responsible for user and security management tasks, such as adjusting permissions and troubleshooting access issues reported via ServiceNow

Perform routine maintenance follows, involving patching, updates, and database optimization to maintain system efficiency

Work on projects like server migrations, setting up new SQL instances, or automating tasks using Ansible/PowerShell

Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise, such as server downtime or performance bottlenecks

Review activities, update documentation, and plan for upcoming tasks in JIRA.

 

Work Location: 100% Remote.
