This position is a HYBRID position requiring onsite work at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds for 2 days a week.

The Sr. Software Developer will be in the Software Engineering Environment(s) and will support the established team in the design, deployment, and integration of software build automation/continuous integration tools within the SEC SE2 that facilitate the post production support of software and the software development lifecycle (SDLC). This includes supporting the current Agile software development tools that facilitate continuous integration and continuous delivery of software maintained by SEC developers. Additionally, FTEs will provide infrastructures services and support, troubleshooting and help desk services while interacting with users (tier 2&3) and applications administration.

It can be expected that they will be asked to analyze current technologies and recommend cutting edge solution to fulfill current and future requirements. In this position the candidate will also participate in, and contribute to the success of the analysis, planning, deployment, test, and integration of existing and Client DevSecOps technologies into the SE2 infrastructure such that the SEC mission and goals will remain attainable in a rapidly growing technological environment.

Supporting personnel MUST have IAT Level 2 credentials, including baseline cyber certificate(s) and applicable platform certifications, which include common operating environment training (Windows 2016/2019, Linux RedHat/CentOS, ubuntu).

Sr. Software Developer

Required Skills:

Active security clearance

Security+ and IAT Level II

Computing environment certification w/in 6 months

1+ yr CI/CD pipeline experience

(such as Azure DevOps Server Powershell Script, GitLab Bash Script, or Jenkins)

3+ yr Programming experience, including Test Driven Development

(such as C#, .NET Core, Python, Java, Go)

2+ yr Configuration as Code experience (such as Ansible)

1+ yr working in application deployment and support in a Linux environment

Experience building cross-platform applications

Experience with the SDLC, to include use of software source code control systems, artifact repositories and code assessment tools

Excellent understanding of DevSecOps and best practices

Strong knowledge in planning and performing in an Agile work environment with a focus on Agile development practices

Experience using project planning tools (such as Jira and Confluence)

Exceptional technical troubleshooting skill (applications, services, servers, networking, etc.)

Excellent verbal communications skills

Effective writing to produce documentation for technicians, and users

Additional Desired Skills:

DevOps experience & tooling

Azure DevOps Server Implementations to include build agent configurations

Active Directory (ADFS integration) | LDAP Integration

Git experience

Containerization experience (such as Docker Compose, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes)

Experience configuring reverse proxy and load balancing

Single Sign-on Integration (such as SAML, OpenID)

Experience using Traefik, Portainer
