Sr. System Analyst
This is a W-2 position only (no staffing agencies or contractors). Candidates must currently reside in the U.S.
Core Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST
Onsite Location: Plano, TX, or Bloomfield, CT
Duties:
Summary:
The Sr. System Analyst will provide expert content and professional insight on complex application development assignments and projects. They will exercise considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and refining product deliverables. Using deep product knowledge, they will advise both technical and functional leaders. This individual will provide thought leadership within Systems Analysis while working on broader projects requiring an understanding of wider business impacts. The Sr. System Analyst is recognized internally as a subject matter expert.
Responsibilities:
Analyze, design, and prepare application/system specifications for information system solutions that address business needs, including methods for testing and implementation.
Define system scope and objectives based on user-defined needs.
Develop or modify procedures to solve complex problems, taking into consideration system capacity, operating time, and desired results.
Prepare detailed specifications, mapping, business flow diagrams, and gap analysis documentation, used for system configuration.
Review and revise existing system logic and documentation as necessary.
Collaborate with IT and business management to identify and specify complex business requirements, participating in the application design, testing, and implementation process.
Coordinate activities with other IT sections (e.g., engineering teams and architects).
Write test scenarios, test scripts, and conduct testing as needed.
Gather, analyze, and document business and user needs, translating them into system requirement specifications.
Serve as the subject matter expert for industry and system-related issues.
Possess comprehensive knowledge of all phases of systems analysis, especially in relation to configuration, while considering the business implications of applying technology to current and future business environments.
Hands-on experience writing database queries, working with NoSQL databases, preparing JSON/XML samples for affinity partners, modifying XML/JSON schema, and authoring/publishing business rules using Drools.
Proficient in utilizing API clients such as Postman or SoapUI to run and analyze APIs, and responsible for writing basic REST API specifications when needed.
Skills:
At least eight years of diverse work experience in IT. Experience in health insurance delivery, claims processing, enrollment processing, or premium billing is desirable.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, Engineers, and Architects to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
Adaptability and flexibility to meet evolving business demands.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience in full-stack application development.
Proficiency with RESTful APIs and microservice architecture.
Strong working knowledge of AWS Services or equivalent cloud platforms.
Understanding and experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts.
Test automation skills using BDD, TDD, or similar methodologies.
Experience working in a SAFe agile work environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
