This position is Hybrid - 2-3 days & as needed for important in-person meetings. In the beginning for onboarding, we most likely will request the person come into the office more than 2x/week.

The IT Business Analyst (BA) with technical expertise is responsible for aligning business requirements with technical solutions across the organization's IT systems. This role demands strong technical knowledge; business acumen; experience in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid project management methodologies; and effective communication skills. The IT Business Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders, developers, technical leads, and Product Owners to define solutions, develop and manage user stories, and oversee testing, including system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain documentation such as business requirements documents (BRDs), system requirement specifications (SRS), technical design, architecture diagrams, and deployment plans.
Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to define, document, and manage user stories, ensuring clarity in functional and technical requirements.
Work closely with developers, systems architects and cross-functional teams to design solutions that meet business needs and integrate across platforms.
Facilitate the development of user stories, acceptance criteria, and product backlogs, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
Develop, manage, and execute test scripts and test models for functional, integration, and regression testing.
Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) efforts to ensure that different systems, applications, and components integrate seamlessly, and that end-to-end processes function as expected.
Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating with business users to ensure the final solution meets business requirements.
Manage Quality Assurance (QA) processes by defining testing criteria, identifying bugs, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues.
Ensure seamless communication with testing teams, monitor test results, and recommend improvements to optimize testing efforts.
Manage and oversee the development, testing, and deployment phases, ensuring the solution aligns with both technical and business objectives.
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure that systems integrate seamlessly and meet security, compliance, and data privacy standards.
Stay updated on emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends to recommend solutions that enhance system performance and business processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in management information systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience in a technical business analyst or similar role within an IT or software development environment.
Proven ability to deliver features in complex, multi-team environments with various dependencies.
Strong experience working with Product Owners to define, document, and manage user stories and product backlogs.
Familiarity and comfort working in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies, with the ability to pivot between frameworks as project demands change.
Experience developing and managing test scripts, test models, and facilitating System Integration Testing (SIT), UAT, and QA processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in data analysis tools such as Excel and databases.
Experience writing technical documentation, including system requirement specifications and design diagrams.
Proficiency in project management and Agile methodologies.
Hands-on experience with system integrations, APIs, and data governance.
Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Excellent communication skills to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with Jira, Confluence and diagramming software.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
Familiarity with B2C applications, customer data platforms (CDPs), email marketing tools, and personalization engines.
Experience as a Technical Product Owner.
Experience with SQL, data modeling, and business intelligence (BI) tools.
Experience working with analytical tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) and loyalty systems.
