Title: AWS and On-Prem DevOps Engineer
Location: Bedminster, NJ (Hybrid: onsite 3-4 days/week as of now)
Duration: 15 Months
Job Description:
The AWS and On-Prem DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS and on-premises infrastructure, including RedHat OpenShift Container Platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AWS and on-premise infrastructure, Linux administration, networking, and experience with containerization and DevOps tools.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, and RDS databases
Design and implement on-premises infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking
Manage and administer RedHat OpenShift Container Platform in on-premises environments
Troubleshoot and resolve AWS and on-premises infrastructure issues
Monitor AWS and on-premises infrastructure for performance and security
Work with developers and other engineers to design and implement new features and services
Stay up-to-date on the latest AWS, on-premises, and DevOps technologies
Collaborate with development teams on containerization and vulnerability remediation
Set up and manage authentication, authorization, and access control
Configure and manage networking within the cluster
Configure and manage storage for stateful workloads
Maintain and upgrade OpenShift clusters
Manage and administer Elasticsearch clusters
Build and administer Apache/Confluent Kafka messaging platform
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitLab
Manage GitLab version control system
Administer PostgreSQL databases
Install and manage monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus
Implement infrastructure as code and automation
Qualifications:
Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
5+ years of experience in AWS and on-premises infrastructure
Strong understanding of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC
Strong understanding of Linux administration
Strong networking skills
Experience with RedHat OpenShift Container Platform
Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and Helm
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)
Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform)
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Additional Information:
Certifications such as CKA or Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator are a plus.
