Senior Data Architect with AWS

We are seeking candidates for a Senior Data Architect with AWS position with a 5-day onsite work arrangement. While local candidates are preferred, the position is open to applicants from anywhere in the USA.

Summary:

The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced Senior Data Architect with a strong background in designing and managing data pipelines using AWS services and Snowflake. They should have domain expertise in the Finance industry, be skilled in data modeling and data governance, and be capable of leading technical design efforts and optimizing data architecture for performance, compliance, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Management & Governance:

Ensure that data management and governance frameworks are established and consistently followed.

Maintain standards for data quality, security, and compliance.

Data Engineering & Architecture:

Architect and design data engineering pipelines for the entire data lifecycle, including data acquisition, ingestion, management, processing, and publishing.

Leverage various AWS services for designing efficient data pipelines.

Develop database models that are optimized for storing and retrieving company information.

Strategic Data Planning:

Determine strategic data requirements and create high-level designs based on these requirements.

Prepare architecture and design documents to guide the development of data engineering pipelines.

AWS Service Expertise:

Guide and troubleshoot issues related to AWS service configuration, performance, security compliance, data quality, and data retrieval.

Ensure the architecture meets performance and security standards.

DevOps & DataOps:

Design pipelines for DevOps and DataOps and resolve issues during their implementation and execution.

Data Acquisition & Exploration:

Research opportunities for data acquisition and integration of new data sources.

Required Technical and Domain Expertise:

Finance Domain Expertise:

Strong understanding of data requirements and challenges within the Finance domain.

Data Modeling:

Ability to model data in Data Lakes and Data Warehouses for analytical purposes.

Solution Design:

Expertise in designing data storage, transformation, security, quality, and performance optimization techniques using AWS and Snowflake.

Data Pipeline Architecture:

Experience in architecting and designing data pipelines for batch processing, streaming, API integration, message queues, and real-time data sources.

Working with Diverse Data Types:

Ability to work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.

Communication & Presentation Skills:

Ability to create impactful presentations tailored to various audiences and negotiate solutions with business teams and analysts.
