Available for the following locations: Sunnyvale, Burlingame, or LA. Remote will be considered as well.
Silicon team is driving the state of the art forward with breakthrough work in computer vision, machine learning, mixed reality, graphics, displays, sensors, and new ways to map the human body. Our chips will enable AR/VR devices where our real and virtual world will mix and match throughout the day. We are seeking a Software Engineer to support modeling and implementation of image/video compression and processing IPs. The successful candidate will be part of a team that includes algorithm, software, architecture, digital design, digital verification, firmware, pre-silicon platforms, and emulation experts.
Responsibilities:
-- Develop architectural model, and map SW to HW using pre-silicon platforms;
-- Design and implement image/video compression and processing IPs;
-- Build and enhance the image/video quality assessment framework: objective and subjective evaluation.
Qualification:
-- 5+ years relevant experience;
-- 5+ years of programming experience in C++;
-- Experience in image/video compression and processing;
-- Familiar with scripting languages such as Python;
-- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Comments for Suppliers: Seeking 12 month assignment with potential to extend
interview screen, Technical interview (coderpad).
Top 3 must-have HARD skills:
C++ programing language
Python
Good to have skills:
SoC modeling background
Image and video compression.
Story Behind the Need Business Group & Key Projects: Needing additional resources for compression IP development in Reality Lab Silicon Team
Compelling Story & Candidate Value Proposition: Image and Video compression is fundamental for success of AR glasses.
Typical Day in the Role: Write code for SoC modeling and image and video quality evaluation
How will performance be measured: Implement the new framework for the compression IPs
Make sure the image and video quality is acceptable for compression IPs
