This DoD organization manages the resourcing, development and sustainment of one of our nation’s most coveted and capable platforms. An average day:
As Cloud Solution Architect, you will design and implement cloud-based solutions, with a primary focus on deploying applications in both AWS and Azure government cloud environments. This position is instrumental in deploying and implementing scalable and extensible cloud environments to meet the needs of the customer, while ensuring seamless integration with our development workflows. Additionally, in this position you will:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, extensible, and reliable cloud solutions tailored to meet business requirements.
Develop architecture diagrams and documentation to effectively communicate solution designs.
Lead the deployment of applications in AWS and Azure cloud environments, applying best practices for security, performance, and cost optimization.
Work closely with DevOps and development teams to streamline the deployment processes, ensuring incorporation of DevSecOps principles into operations.
Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to relevant government and military regulations, such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST guidelines.
Drive the deployment and implementation of GitHub runners to support continuous integration and delivery processes. Ensure the seamless integration of runners with development workflows and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain incident response and disaster recovery plans tailored to classified cloud environments.
Evaluate and manage relationships with cleared cloud service providers and ensure they meet necessary security standards.
Stay informed about emerging cloud technologies and assess their potential applications within classified environments.
Create efficiencies using automated approaches to deployment, testing, and management of all cloud environments within your control
Provide experts guidance to internal teams on cloud architecture best practices, security considerations, and performance optimization. Act as a subject matter expert in cloud technologies and stay abreast of industry trends.
Foster collaboration with development, operations, and security teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to cloud solutions. Participate in cross-functional discussions to align technical strategies with business objectives.
Proactively identify and address issues related to cloud infrastructure. Optimize cloud resources to enhance performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Travel both domestically and internationally to provide support for project implementation efforts.
Basic Qualifications:
As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on designing and implementing complex cloud solutions.
Expert understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.), proficient in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.), and deep experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Has designed several scalable, high-performance architectures, possesses a strong understanding of microservices, serverless, and other cloud-native approaches.
Expert understanding of cloud security best practices, identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical solutions to diverse stakeholders.
Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies and iterative development cycles.
Other Requirements:
Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
Will be subject to a federal background investigation.
Must be able to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally, international travel will require a current US Passport.
