Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Responsibilities:
The IT Help Desk is seeking an IT Support Specialist II to provide Tier 2 support for the NNSS, including investigating elevated issues and supporting MacOS.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support for hardware, software, or network installation, which may include:
Installing and upgrading hardware and software.
Disassembling equipment for relocation.
Serving as a single point of contact for clients to report equipment and software malfunctions.
Performing client call backs.
Conducting customer satisfaction surveys.
Analyzing and resolving problems.
Assisting users in running management applications and systems.
Monitoring the operation of computer hardware or software.
Developing or modifying processes and procedures to solve complex operating system problems.
Diagnosing of Printer related issues.
Computer imaging (SCCM experience preferred).
Tier 2 support: Assist Tier I personnel in solving technical problems and investigates elevated issues by confirming the validity of the problem and seeks known solutions for more complex issues.
Specialty support may be required of Active Directory (AD), AD Group Policy Objects, Windows 10, Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, advanced support and setup of Microsoft Outlook.
Vendor communication.
Perform other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent training and experience, with at least one year of related experience.
MacOS experience preferred.
Ensure to exhibit strong end-to-end troubleshooting skills for system, network, and applications.
Advanced computer skills with Windows Operations Systems, Active Directory, and with software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and MS Outlook.
Experience installing hardware and software for personal computing needs.
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional, effective manner.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast-paced, changing environment.
The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Hourly pay range for this position is: $22.14 - $33.21.
