Application Support Engineer
Arnold, MO
Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

The Application Support Engineer will be part of an integrated Operations & Sustainment team providing critical 24x7 mission support to our customer and will interface with engineering resources located at other facilities and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the customer application and monitoring/investigation of segment interfaces.
Responsibilities:
Work with on-site database and system administration support personnel to convey and investigate system anomalies.
Investigate operational issues and perform problem escalation with vendor, factory, and on-site Subject Matter Experts (SME) as required.
Ensure system issues are identified and resolved, minimizing operational impacts.
Support servers, workstations, and storage systems in a team-based environment.
Provides support to customers accessing NGA’s Portal and related applications in support of real-world, time-critical operations.
Achieves optimum performance and availability standards in accordance with service level agreements by assessing, implementing, and managing appropriate technical solutions.
Ensure systems maintain a near 100% uptime.
Performs system backups and recovery, maintains user accounts and file systems, and monitors and maintains system performance metrics for daily Senior Level staff meetings.
Vendor coordination to keep all systems up to date and fine-tuned.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED Equivalent
2+ years relevant work experience to include: Experience with UNIX/LINUX-based operating system.
Experience with Oracle or other relational databases.
Experience in scripting.
Experience with Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Security+ required
TS/SCI Security Clearance required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to provide rotating site support (24x7) to ensure system issues are identified and resolved, minimizing operational impacts - shift work is required in a high paced environment.Panama Night Shift 7 pm to 7 am ( 2 on / 2 off / 3 on / 3 off )
Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
