Overview:
DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Database Administrator to join our team supporting the US Transportation Command GTP GOPAX program. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases, focusing on ensuring optimal performance, security, and high availability across multiple environments. The administrator will also support Agile development projects, managing database configurations and migrating databases to AWS RDS.

 

This position is onsite at Scott AFB.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain databases including MySQL, MariaDB, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle DBMS in development, QA, and production environments.

Install, configure, and manage database systems on Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, and Amazon Linux platforms.

Develop, execute, and maintain scripts using Shell Command Language, Windows Batch Scripting, and Powershell for database automation and system management.

Ensure system security by applying Risk Management Framework (RMF) principles and using Nessus/ACAS, webInspect, and HBSS/SELinux for vulnerability mitigation and remediation.

Configure and deploy cloud-based database solutions using Cloud Foundry, Docker, AWS, and VMware to ensure high availability and scalability.

Utilize Chef, SaltStack, CloudFormation, and Terraform for automated database provisioning, management, and deployment.

Support web application and database integration with Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat Server, and Microsoft IIS.

Monitor database performance and security using tools like JIRA, Confluence, Gitlab, and VMware vSphere.

Provide IT training and assist with account management and data filtering, ensuring compliance with DoD standards.

Collaborate with developers to implement database changes, troubleshoot database-related issues, and optimize performance for SQL, PL/SQL, and other database-driven applications.

Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual data-related tasks such as performance monitoring, weekly/monthly reports, and Carrier Rate Loads.

Flexible schedule to support weekly after-hour Production deployments and to answer emergency problems in an on-call status.

Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance.

Must hold an active an IAT Level II certification; CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred.

Minimum 4 years of experience with database systems such as Oracle DBMS, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.

Strong experience with cloud computing environments (AWS, VMware) and containerization technologies (Docker).

Proficient in shell scripting and automation tools (Chef, SaltStack, CloudFormation, Terraform).

Experience applying DoD RMF standards and mitigating security vulnerabilities using Nessus/ACAS, webInspect, and other security tools.

Familiarity with HTML/CSS, XML, YAML, and JSON for system and database configuration.

Hands-on experience with Apache Tomcat, Microsoft IIS, and similar web servers.
