Your technical expertise as a scientific project manager, Genomic Technologies in the area of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques will contribute to our client's innovative therapies which will impact the quality and duration of life.
Job description:
The scientific project manager will be responsible for management of research projects in a high throughput lab setting as well as implementing tools and processes to ensure stakeholders have transparent access to project status. The project manager will be responsible for coordinating project activities, including communication, organization, and timelines to ensure goals are met, while fostering collaboration and working closely with laboratory and cross-functional team members.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and scientific research with experience managing complex projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. They should also have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a foundational scientific or technical domain expertise in biology, genetics, or a related field with a background in laboratory research.
Experience in identifying and implementing methods and tools to enhance operational efficiency and facilitate knowledge transfer is a plus. Certifications in project management and a deeper understanding of research and next generation sequencing through a master's or Ph.D. would be advantageous. This role is an individual contributor position that requires working cross-functionally.
Skills/requirements:
Project management: Strong knowledge and experience in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. Prior experience managing pharmaceutical discovery research projects or cross-functional initiatives. Ability to bring structure and organization to activities.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate discussions, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and ensure effective collaboration.
Organization: Strong organizational skills to handle multiple initiatives, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail. Ability to organize and coordinate across complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Efficiency: Proficiency in managing project timelines and ensuring accountability. Actively respond to project risks, mitigate, prevent and/or resolve potential risks or issues.
Foundational scientific or technical domain expertise: Demonstrated ability to understand and work with stakeholders in pharmaceutical R&D (e.g. degree in genetics, genomics, biology or a related field) and experience with next generation sequencing applications and laboratory research.
