Responsibilities:
Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Surgical Service Director and/or Clinical Nurse Manager, the endoscopy lab technician is responsible for the proper processing of endoscopes, transporting patients, management of specific supplies and assisting physicians and nurses when required. Assists with scheduling procedures, completing patient charges and compiling statistical information for the department. Assist in services and care of the adult patient (18 to 64 years) and other adults (age 65 years and above).

Required Qualifications:

 

BLS

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

One year endoscopy experience

High School Diploma. 

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms

Physical Requirements: 1) Employee must meet physical and mental requirements as identified by the physical activity evaluation. 2) Bending, stooping and sitting 3) Standing long periods 4) Lifting over 10 lbs, able to life and move patients, heavy equipment, instrument trays and push and pull gurneys, and beds. 5) Must have manual dexterity, good eye hand coordination, and adequate visual and auditory acuity to perform duties.
