JOB SUMMARY
Lead Cybersecurity Engineers are responsible for activities including (but not limited to) administration and configuration of information security tools, security devices, cybersecurity safeguards, countermeasures, and cybersecurity event management. The lead engineer will support a subset of individual contributors within the engineering teams, guiding, enabling and solutioning for operational lines of business and subsidiaries. This position is for an experienced engineer comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with cutting-edge technologies.
Being part of a dynamic team that works closely with service providers and with personnel from various organizational departments including the application development, IT operations, IT network, and privacy teams, while remaining agile. These engineers lead teams with building, testing, implementing, administering, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise security solutions.
Lead Cybersecurity Engineers are senior lever security technology experts and provide workgroup and team lead support. They assist management with core department functions and objectives assigned to the teams.
Essential Functions
The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.
Leads Continued Analytics of trends, news, and changes in the threat and compliance landscape with respect to organizational risk
Leads the development of security controls to decrease risk to the enterprise and its subsidiaries (technical, administrative, or physical)
Leads Proof of concepts, Proof of Technology Assessments to mitigate risk before business case and investments are realized
Leads security technology incident response and problem management. Resolves alerts and performs remediation activities as required until functions are in an operational state
Leads coordination with other various departments to establish security practices as one of the core functions of information technology
Expert-level ability to communicate highly complex technical information clearly and articulately at all levels and audiences.
Leads analysis of present data on technical security solutions and processes to leadership and business stakeholders
Leads the migration, upgrade and disposal of complex security capabilities and evaluates risks and impacts
Leads collaboration with other business areas to deliver on work group initiatives for the enterprise and its subsidiaries
Clients workgroups supporting IT and Cybersecurity strategy.
Leads remediation actions as a result of threat and vulnerability assessments or audits
Provides training and mentorship to teammates on security capabilities, processes, procedures and operations
Required Work Experience:
8+ years related work experience (at least 6 years Cybersecurity / 2 years Infrastructure/Development)
Required Education
Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience
Required Licenses and Certifications
CISSP - Cert Information Systems Security Prof (180 Days within FTE conversion)
Additional Required Qualifications:
Capable of leading information security principles, including risk assessment and management, threat and vulnerability management, incident response and identity and access management
Strong technical knowledge of current systems, software, protocols and standards. (including TCP/IP and network administration/protocols) to be lead in areas where gaps are realized.
In-depth knowledge of operating systems and security applications, as well as a working knowledge of basic network protocols and tools.
Proven leadership abilities including effective knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation of open discussions, fairness and displaying appropriate levels of assertiveness.
Proven ability to work under stress in emergencies with flexibility to handle multiple high-pressure situations simultaneously.
Proven ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
Capable of Leading, implementing, and administering/managing technical solutions in major, large-scale system implementations
High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy.
Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance
Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
