Java Mainframe Developer

Java Mainframe Developer Only W2 (Citizen, GC, GC EAD)
Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid: 2 days onsite, 3 days remote)

Candidate Preference: Local to Jersey City, NJ, or nearby areas.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

Core Java Development: 5+ years of hands-on experience coding in Java.

Database Skills: 5+ years of experience with DB2 and SQL, including strong database querying abilities.

Mainframe Familiarity: 3+ years of experience working within a mainframe environment, including the ability to read and understand COBOL code.

Web Services: Experience developing and consuming web services using Java.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Cloud: Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.

Front-end Development: Experience with UI creation using Angular or React.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications within a mainframe environment.

Write and optimize complex SQL queries to interact with DB2 databases.

Collaborate with mainframe teams to understand COBOL code and translate business logic into Java implementations.

Develop and consume web services to integrate with other systems.

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
