A UX Team Member at UWM is passionate about creating elegant experiences that align business goals with user's needs. You will work with business stakeholders and the UX Team to create the best possible user experience. This position will allow you to have wide reaching influence over the relationship between our users and UWM.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Leverages business understanding, complex data points, system dependencies and layering to assist in the design of complex enterprise solutions.
Conduct user research to understand user needs
Meet with business stakeholders to understand business requirements
Create reports and present findings to stakeholders
Create wireframes/mock ups
Stewardship of the United Design System
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
Required:
Ability to assess visual, interactive, and experiential design quality and be able to clearly articulate those reasons to technical and non-technical team members
Experience with modern design tools (E.g. Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma)
Able to support problem solving efforts.
Demonstrates good soft skills and relationship management aptitude including interpersonal communication skills
Two to four years of validated UX experience with evidence of demonstrating UX best practices to support design initiatives.
Demonstrates basic levels of skill, knowledge, and application of advanced UX methodologies and principles (e.g., UX strategy, content strategy, UX maturity management, etc.).
Able to produce useful artifacts and reference materials to support design initiatives (e.g., point-of-view decks, wireframes, prototypes, mockups, live demos, etc.).
Preferred:
Degree in Human Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Interaction Design or equivalent experience
Knowledge of creating / maintaining design systems / style guides / pattern libraries
Experience with User Testing/Research
Experience with managing/analyzing user data
Experience with mobile UX best practices
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
Experience with technical writing
