Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with a deep expertise in Kubernetes and GitHub/GitLab to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing and scaling our infrastructure, automating workflows, and ensuring smooth CI/CD pipelines. As a senior member, you will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications in a highly available, scalable, and secure environment.
Design, implement, and manage Kubernetes clusters in production and development environments.
Oversee the deployment, scaling, and monitoring of microservices on Kubernetes.
Lead the automation of infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, primarily through Kubernetes and GitOps tools.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub/GitLab Actions, ensuring efficient and reliable deployment processes.
Manage and configure GitHub/GitLab repositories and workflows, ensuring proper branching strategies, code reviews, and security practices are followed.
Maintain and enhance containerization strategies using Docker, ensuring best practices for container image management.
Ensure high availability and resilience of production systems through VM clustering, load balancing, regionally distributed databases, effective monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery practices.
Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and security by implementing best practices for Kubernetes and GitHub/GitLab.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
Key Qualifications:
12+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related roles with BS degree
Expertise in managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments, including orchestration, scaling, and troubleshooting.
Strong experience with GitHub/GitLab Actions and GitHub/GitLab repositories, including managing workflows, permissions, and automation.
Proven track record of CI/CD pipeline design and automation using GitHub/GitLab or similar tools.
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and experience in deploying Kubernetes clusters in cloud environments.
Familiarity with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm) for managing infrastructure at scale.
Solid knowledge of networking, security, and monitoring in Kubernetes environments.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Teamwork Cloud and Cassandra DB management
Experience with GitOps workflows and tools such as Flux or ArgoCD.
Familiarity with Service Mesh architectures (e.g., Istio) and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
Experience with Scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
Prior experience in mentoring and leading teams.
