Position: AWS Database administrator
Location: Dallas Texas (Remote)
Job Description:
This position is primarily a SQL Server in AWS production support DBA role with responsibilities that include developing, implementing, and maintaining RDBMS structures to support business needs and application development. Will coordinate, review, analyze and approve the physical database requirements of databases and all associated objects, such as, but not limited to the applications that access the RDBMS structures.
Primary Responsibilities:
Extensive experience with SQL Server in AWS
Very Large DB (VLDB) migration AWS/Azure experience
Must have OLTP, transaction processing, or healthcare experience
Experience with building/migrating databases to AWS/Azure and using Docker images
DBA tools to do Performance Tuning and Capacity Planning
Partitioning
Experience running multiple database instances
Resource Management within database (not people management)
Ability to work 24 hour on-call support rotation

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
B.S. degree or equivalent work experience with Relational Database Management Systems with SQLSERVER 2008/2012/2014/2016/2017 in AWS
5+ years of experience with systems development methodologies
5+ years of experience with the design, creation, and maintenance of database structures
5+ years of experience with the development and revision of database standards, procedures, and strategies
3+ years of experience with AWS/Azure VLDB environments
3+ years of experience with a combination of Oracle and PostgreSQL (version 12 or higher)
Preferred Qualification:
Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of their responsibilities and effectively communicate and follow tasks through to completion
