Overview:
Reporting to the Manager – Business Applications, the SAP Business Systems Developer will be responsible for developing and implementing business systems that align with our strategic requirements. This includes design, analysis, programming and configuration of SAP modules, as well as problem analysis and resolution, system testing, and end-user training. This position will initially focus on Human Capital Management and FICO.
Responsibilities:
Work with business stakeholders, product owners, and company leadership to gather, define, and understand business requirements across a variety of business units
Determine operational objectives by studying business processes, gathering information, evaluating requirements and possible solutions
Defining systems configurations by analyzing requirements, building workflows, understanding system capabilities and writing specifications
Design and program SAP modules to improve company operations
Utilize SAP tools and ABAP language for system configuration and development
Develop test plans and scripts to validate effective designs of system solutions
Participate in and develop system documentation including standard operating procedures and user training materials
Participate in the design and adoption of business systems analysis best practices throughout the organization
Actively support the organization on multiple concurrent projects
Stays current on system enhancements and improvements by pursuing educational opportunities, including new SAP ABAP technologies and programing languages
Work effectively with key internal and external resources to achieve objectives
Communicates status and issues to leadership on a regular basis
Builds strong partnerships through organization and gains respect of stakeholders
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, IT, Business Administration, or another business-related field required
3-5 years experience in performing business or systems analysis
3-5 years working with various with ERP or financial reporting systems
SAP certification, a plus
Detailed participation in systems implementations in the capacity of Business Analyst or similar
Experience with performance tuning, testing and debugging of SAP applications
Proven experience as an SAP ABAP Developer
Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical skills – able to gather and analyze data, identify goals, explore and recommend solutions and implement and evaluate results. Should be able to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives and provide well founded decisions
Proactive approach to problem solving with a passion for process improvement and cost reduction
Excellent understanding of business processes and workflows
Proficiency in user interface design, database structures, and statistical analyses
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Ability to independently plan and organize work; self-motivated and able to drive results
Ability to communicate to internal and external stakeholders in a professional and organized way, both written, verbal, and in person
Emotional intelligence and good interpersonal skills to collaborate with a wide diversity of colleagues in other disciplines and cultures
Strong customer service and satisfaction orientation
