Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Principal Electronics Engineer – Ground Segment Systems Integrator to our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.
This candidate will be responsible for the integrating and testing software/hardware systems in complex IT systems.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support the IPT with Hardware defect resolution for Ground segment and enhancement efforts.
Author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and update procedures
Engineer solutions to address new technical requirements and/or bug fixes
Document and maintain system configurations
Implement engineering changes to the system as required
Maintain COTS Hardware and Software configuration matrix
Engineer and test new technical solutions in lab environments
Document and maintain system configurations
Automate installation of COTS software
Maintain compatibility with existing architectures when implementing system enhancements
Release CM controlled documentation, and COTS software media
The selected candidate will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working closely with other engineers and technicians in a lab-like environment. The candidate will be supporting a program where application of extensive technical expertise will be required to support a developing system.
Once in the role, this position could offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager's discretion. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience.
Demonstrated experience with Windows and Unix operating systems
Demonstrated experience with VMware
Demonstrated experience with Ground Segment
Active in-scope, DoD Secret clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with storage systems and basic networking
Familiarity with Solaris 10 and 11, Oracle OEM
Familiarity Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory
Familiarity VMware ESXi, VMware vCenter
Salary Range: $107,300 - $160,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
