UWM is seeking a Scrum Master with advanced skills who has experience driving positive change throughout their organization. Highly skilled in all Agile and Scrum concepts, this Scrum Master will also collaborate with leadership to strategize and implement improvement initiatives. This self-starting individual must be a critical thinker who has exemplary time-management skills and who can coach teams and deliver enterprise-level change simultaneously.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Guiding and coaching software development teams on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services
Coaching senior leaders in Agile best practices to encourage adoption as well as navigating the cultural and mindset changes inherent in Agile frameworks
Catalyzing continuous improvement of processes through collaboration with multiple teams and senior leaders
Leading teams to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching, quality and development techniques
Effectively coach teams to facilitate Agile events independently such as sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint review and sprint retrospectives?
Mentoring Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Development Team members as advocates of Agile concepts, focusing on the delivery of value
Anticipating and facilitating the removal of obstacles by providing visibility to leadership that prevents or slows down work completion
Championing the use of metrics and other objective measures across teamsHelping establish empirical product planning for a complex environment
Ability to work 100% on-site in Pontiac, Michigan
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
Must Have Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of service to a team in the role of a scrum master
Experience coaching on Agile practices for multiple teams and/or large-scale projects
Self-starter capable of multitasking and managing multiple teams’ schedules
Utilizes critical thinking skills in order to determine best solutions
Creativity, flexibility and problem-solving skills
Deep knowledge of multiple Agile approaches
Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
Skilled at refinement, story splitting, estimation, and other Agile techniques and practices
Proficient with work tracking systems such as Jira
Expert in all phases of the SDLC
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Nice to Have Qualifications:
Experience implementing scaling frameworks
Computer or business-related bachelor's degree or equivalent
Advanced Agile certification and/or scaling certification
Advanced knowledge in JIRA
