Overview:
Tactical Engineering & Analysis Inc (TEA) is seeking a Systems/Network Administrator to work on an exciting Department of Defense contract to provide systems/network engineering and technical assistance support services. This position supports NIWC Pacific's Combined Test Bed and Program Generation Center in their work to provide engineering, integration, and evaluation of current and future Tactical Data Links (TDLs) and Advance Tactical Data Links (ATDLs). The overarching goal is to develop TDL processors and tools for current and future C2 information supporting real-time and near real-time C2 operations for Navy, Joint, and Coalition warfighters.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions/Job Duties:

This position requires basic knowledge of Computer Network Systems and Intermediate Network Engineering Expertise.

Provides intermediate to advanced network administration to include development, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) infrastructures.

Independently maintains configuration, management, and optimizing of routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, etc)

Capable of configuring Network Services - NAT, DHCP and DNS

Utilizes network monitoring tools to analyze network performance, usage (Quality of Service), traffic flows, access, and interfaces.

Develops network testing, maintenance, and training manuals and documentation.

Configures and operates Navy ship/shore network systems. Systems include the Automatic Digital Network System (ADNS) Inc II, ADNS Inc III, Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS), Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES), Non-Secure Internet Protocol Network (NIPRnet), and Internet Protocol Network (SIPRnet).

Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 credentials.

Independently provides support with implementation requirements of the Cybersecurity Workforce CSWF) Certification & Accreditation (C&A) processes (e.g. STIGs, SCAPs).

Collects and reviews related information security artifacts (i.e. certifications, test results, configuration documentation) for C&A review.

Executes patch management, including installation of appropriate security reinforcement measures and updates.

Provide support with implementation requirements of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) standards (eMASS, STIG, SCAP, & ACAS).

Basic knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) practices for computer networking systems and interfacing protocols used in the CTB.

Executes Windows Patch Management, Windows Server Update Service (WSUS), and Host Based Security Service (HBSS).

The secondary role of system administrator with CSWF IAT certification shall provide support for certification & accreditation (C&A) processes on an as needed basis.

 

Customer Interface Activities:

Interfaces with customers and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills.

Provides input for various consolidated events in Daily Status Reports (DSR) as required.

 

Written Communication:

Independently generates documentation that presents ideas and/or information in a logical manner. Able to organize the information and use the best methods and/or formats for its' delivery (e.g. Government instructions, industry de-facto standards, etc.)

Proficient in the reading, writing and comprehension of technical documentation and manuals.

 

Verbal Communication:

Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.

Active communicator - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.

Attends meetings and is responsible for presenting material and giving briefs to wide a government audience.

 

Project management/ Staff Supervision:

Follows Government, company, or project processes and approval methods. Ability to follow clear established process and team priorities.

Contributes to the project team and/or manages a project task.

Actively works to meet project quality expectations and deadlines with a concern for reducing errors in customer deliverables.

Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.

Provides required weekly and monthly written status reports to Project Manager.

Qualifications:
Skills and Qualifications:

Requires 5 years relevant military experience as a Navy Information System Technicians (IT specialists) or equivalent job-related experience.

Demonstrates the desire to increase technical knowledge, pursue further formal education through seminar attendance, discipline, specific courses, and/or higher education.

Experience with CSWF Certification & Accreditation (C&A) processes. Includes experience with Navy Assured Compliance Assessment System (ACAS) collection systems, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).

Experience in computer system networking and OSI layer protocols used in commercial and/or military communications systems.

Experience configuring and operating Navy ship/shore network systems which include the Automatic Digital Network System (ADNS) Inc II, ADNS Inc III, Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS), Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES), Non-Secure Internet Protocol Network (NIPRnet), and Internet Protocol Network (SIPRnet).

 

Typical Working Conditions:

General office environment; Computer/Equipment lab; US Naval Ship (Non-Hostile)

Laboratory Environment - Computer/Equipment lab.

 

Equipment Used:

Navy shipboard systems both ruggedized and commercial grade.

General office equipment, computer, Servers, Switches, & Cables

 

Essential Physical Tasks:

Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.

Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.

Potential domestic travel less than 10% of the time by automobile.

Travel: Minimal Local Travel required

Able to efficiently adapt to new priorities. This includes effectively multitasking project responsibilities with an awareness to support changes as needed.

The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

 

Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivilant

 

Required Certifications: IAT Level 2, Security + CE, Windows, CCNA

 

Pay Range: $85,000.00 to $(phone number removed) annually, DOE

 

U.S. Citizenship is required

 

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
