Overview:
We are seeking a full-time User Interface Designer Intern in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality visual graphics for Garmin products.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
Learn to prepare final software-ready image files based on supplied specifications for several types of product lines
Learn to collaborate with user interface designers and software engineers to make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and assist in the resolution of artwork issues during the production process
Learn how to follow established processes and guidelines to ensure tasks are being completed on time
Learn the ability to manage multiple basic projects in parallel from start to finish
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
Completed coursework in graphic design/visual communication
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge
Proficient or able to learn the understanding of imaging formats, screen technology, quality control, and asset output
Proficient or able to learn using Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and collaborate effectively with others to achieve goals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proficient organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail/quality
Desired Qualifications
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Blender, Microsoft Office
Experience in Visual Communications or Graphic Design
