Overview:
Toxicology Data Analyst

Responsibilities:
The Toxicology Data Analyst will extract and analyze data/information from internal and public access databases and documents for toxicological assessment. They are expected to have a working knowledge of biology, biochemistry, and/or toxicology.

They will create, maintain, and analyze databases of in vivo and in vitro test method results for development and/or validation of new approach methods for toxicity testing. They will develop and coordinate project timelines associated with the validation and implementation of these methods. They are expected to assist in all aspects of data analysis, including data curation, data management, statistical evaluation, and preparation for/conducting analyses using predefined computational workflows.

Dissemination of information needed by U.S. governmental committees and regulatory agencies, stakeholder working groups, peer review panels, and test method developers is an essential part of this position. As is taking meeting minutes and preparing meeting summaries for distribution internally, and externally (scientific community and the public). Likewise, preparation of scientific and technical documents (e.g., presentations, reports, workshop summaries, manuscripts, operating procedures) are core components of this position. The Toxicology Data Analyst will work in a team environment where cooperation and a professional attitude are essential. Other duties will be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:
Required

M.S./B.S. in related scientific field with at least 0/2 years post-degree experience in biology/biochemistry/toxicology and/or data analysis

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of scientific databases such as EPA’s CompTox Chemicals Dashboard and OECD eChemPortal

Strong experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

Strong technical writing and editing skills

Functions well independently and in a team environment

Proficiency in R and/or Python

Familiarity with contract research and regulatory testing requirements

They will work cooperatively with diverse teams and communicate their science effectively to non-technical clients. This position is based in RTP, NC and is eligible for remote work in the U.S.

 

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.  The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
