What you will do:
We are seeking a Director of UX to lead the application of design best practices, ensuring the development of user-centric, visually compelling, and consistent digital experiences across all our products.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Champion Design Thinking: Lead the adoption of design thinking methodologies across all product teams, ensuring a problem-solving approach that focuses on understanding user needs, rapid prototyping, and iterative design.

Establish UX Best Practices: Define and implement industry-leading UX standards, ensuring consistency in user interface design, navigation, and interaction across all products. This includes setting guidelines on page layout, typography, color schemes, and responsive design.

User-Centered Design: Develop intuitive, user-centric interfaces by collaborating closely with stakeholders to deeply understand user personas, journeys, and pain points. Ensure that every design decision is rooted in providing optimal user experiences.

Consistency in Visual Design: Ensure visual design consistency across all platforms by creating and maintaining style guides, design systems, and component libraries. Lead efforts to deliver a cohesive look and feel, emphasizing harmony in colors, fonts, iconography, and page layouts.

Focus on Usability & Accessibility: Ensure designs adhere to usability best practices, focusing on clarity, ease of use, and accessibility standards. Incorporate user feedback and usability testing into the design process to continuously enhance product interaction and performance.

Cutting-Edge Design Solutions: Introduce innovative, leading-edge design solutions that enhance the overall product experience. Push the boundaries of UX by leveraging emerging design trends and technologies while ensuring practical and scalable implementations.

Advocate for User Experience: Act as the voice of the user within the product teams, ensuring that product development decisions are guided by user feedback and grounded in UX research and testing. Promote empathy and understanding of user needs across the organization.

Collaborate on Product Development: Work closely with product managers and developers to ensure design concepts are accurately translated into final products while maintaining user-centric principles and technical feasibility.

Drive Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine UX processes, incorporating feedback from users, internal teams, and performance metrics. Ensure that all products meet the highest standards of design quality and user satisfaction.

Promote UX Innovation: Stay ahead of design trends and innovations, regularly bringing new ideas and approaches to the team. Be an internal advocate for keeping GEP’s UX practices at the forefront of the industry, pushing for a progressive and modern user experience across all platforms.

What you should bring:
Experience: 8+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, ideally in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.

Expertise in Design Thinking: Proven experience in applying design thinking methodologies to create user-centered, innovative, and efficient design solutions.

Deep Knowledge of UX Standards: Expertise in UX/UI design principles, including layout, color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy. Experience creating and maintaining design systems and component libraries.

Tools and Prototyping: Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and InVision, with experience in creating wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.

Usability & Accessibility: Strong understanding of usability testing, accessibility standards (WCAG), and ensuring compliance across all digital products.

Consistency in Design: Demonstrated ability to ensure consistency across multiple products and platforms, maintaining a unified and cohesive visual experience.

Leadership in UX Innovation: Proven ability to introduce innovative UX solutions that lead to measurable improvements in user satisfaction and engagement.

Communication: Excellent ability to articulate design concepts and principles to both technical and non-technical audiences.
