Senior Devops Engineer

Senior DevOps Engineer
Duration: 6 months contract to hire

Location: Hybrid 4 days a week in Greenwood Village, CO; 1 day remote (Local candidates preferred)

Experience: 10+ years

Must-Have:

Development background is mandatory

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

CI/CD Pipeline Ownership:

Evaluate and enhance existing CI/CD pipelines (GitLab Runner, Jenkins)

Design and implement new CI/CD solutions

Integrate automated end-to-end testing

Enhance SonarQube capabilities for code quality

AWS Cloud Management:

Design, develop, and improve AWS environments (EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, Elastic Beanstalk, etc.) using CloudFormation and Terraform

Implement industry best practices for deployment, monitoring, and alerting

Design and implement enhanced production monitoring

Agile Leadership:

Lead feature and story grooming sessions

Lead Sprint Planning

Contribute to the continuous improvement of DevOps processes

Collaboration and Mentorship:

Partner with development and architecture teams

Mentor and advise other engineering team members

Required Qualifications:

Problem-Solving and Creativity: Proven ability to solve problems independently and creatively develop DevOps solutions

Agile Expertise: Comfortable writing and prioritizing Agile Epics, Features, and Stories

DevOps Leadership: A thought leader who can drive continuous improvement

AWS Proficiency: Experience designing and deploying AWS solutions

CI/CD Mastery: Strong working knowledge of developing and enhancing CI/CD pipelines

GitLab and Version Control: Working knowledge of branching and merging code in GitLab

Cloud Networking: Understanding of AWS Virtual Private Clouds and Networking

Communication and Documentation: Strong design documentation and communication skills

Automation Mindset: Preference for coding automated solutions over manual processes

Testing Integration: Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines

Mentorship: Willingness to mentor and guide other team members

Passion for DevOps: A solid understanding and enthusiasm for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment

Related Work Experience:

3-7 years of DevOps experience

Proficient with Docker-based container deployments and Kubernetes

Experience integrating tools like GitLab, Jira, Confluence, etc.

Experience managing and deploying server releases to production

Experience supporting, monitoring, and developing alerts for production environments

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
