Your Role at Us:

Client's suite of diagnostic cardiology solutions in the Cardiology segment of the Front Line Care business unit are standard of care for improving diagnostic yield, workflow efficiency, and long-range patient outcomes. The products include intelligent and connected devices that utilize advanced sensing capabilities to generate differentiated insights across key heart conditions (e.g. Arrythmia, MI, CHF). Further, connected solutions through vendor neutral shared platforms (i.e. CardioServer) can streamline workflows, EMR integration and care pathways across the patient journey. Additionally, clinical, and remote services augment and support clinician and staff processes and services to provide actionable data on patients and devices. And finally, AI aided diagnosis and decision support capabilities improve diagnostic yields and efficiencies.

The Client business portfolio includes Resting ECG systems, Holter analysis and recorders, Stress ECG diagnostics, Spirometry diagnostics and data management systems that represent the standard of care for diagnostic cardiology.

Position Overview:

A Principal Engineer for software will be responsible for development of products and providing creative solutions associated with the design, development, and sustaining engineering for our new and existing software product portfolio. The successful candidate will possess solid "hands-on” technical abilities, an excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting the needs of patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the architecture and design of a module/project, makes architecture and design choices for new product development, maintenance activities, field issue resolution etc.

• Responsible for technically leading maintenance activities, field issue resolution working with the local and globally distributed teams and with hands-on approach for solving issues

• Reviews and approves the design and code of a module/project/defect fixes

• Demonstrates customer focus by ensuring quality of software releases and timely resolution of field reported issues

• Responsible for analyzing and understanding the requirements.

• Identifies key module/product level technical risks and assists project manager in developing mitigation and recovery plan

• Review work products and ensure the quality of deliverables

• Provides input to the test strategies at a product level

• Provides guidance to development and test teams with respect to overall design and development.

• Leads and coaches the team members.

• Drives the application of principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and testing techniques.

• Owns and drives continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps.

Qualifications / Experience and/or Background:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering discipline or equivalent is required.

5+ years' experience in a software engineering role, with experience in PC based applications

Excellent software architecture, design and implementation skills

Expertise in development and maintenance of Software for PC Based/Embedded systems

Strong Object-Oriented development and design knowledge and experience

Deep understanding of technology & software development principles:

Analysis and Design: Object oriented architecture, Design Patterns

Programming: C++, C#, .NET application development

Knowledge on SQL Data Base, Working knowledge on SQL Server Express or pgSQL relational database.

Development and Continuous Integration: Visual Studio/Eclipse, SVN, Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, BitBucket, Jira etc.

OS: Windows,

Experience in technically leading project teams involving SW architects and SW design engineers.

Demonstrated success in delivering results on technical challenges.

Good understanding of Healthcare domain (regulations and standards) and Medical software development process.
