Data Modeler
Duration: 12 months (possible extension or conversion)
Location: HYBRID W/ ONSITE REQUIREMENT – 3 days onsite

We are seeking a Data Modeler with strong hands-on experience in developing Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models in transactional data processing. Candidate must have experience in developing large scale data models that fits multiple lines of business. The work will involve developing strategic state-of-the-art solutions using agile methodologies, micro services, and integration with many application/services.
Responsibilities:
Identify data and information needs for wholesale lending business
Deep understanding of information and data architecture, keen eye in business data and problem-solving solutions on an enterprise level
Develop conceptual, logical, physical models and metadata solutions in UML using Magic Draw tool, and validate the models with spec by use case examples
Working with product and technology teams to understand requirements and partnering with Engineering team to execute the models
Design and maintain blueprint of the information architecture, data integrations and controls aligned to the renewed business strategy
Unify data concepts across disparate front office, credit risk, servicing, and reporting functions
Determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and data from existing systems
Participate in requirement engineering and working groups and collaborate with business leads, operations, SMEs, technologists, and governance teams
Define, model, and rationalize target state solution, socialize with key stakeholders, and conduct walkthrough
Incorporate data standards and implement governance model
Develop data flows, ownership matrixes, mapping, and data lineage
Assist in the implementation of physical data model, contribute to the system and operational design, carry out optimization for usability and performance
Qualifications:
8-10 years hand-on experience in Data Modeling and Data Architecture
Extensive experience in UML/relational/hierarchical and business data analysis
Experience in UML is preferred
Experience Object Oriented development and python is a plus
Hands-on modeling expertise in OLTP modeling with tools such as ERwin, ERStudio or Magic Draw.
Prefer data modelling experience using Magic Draw and Cameo. Utilize Code Engineering Sets to generate executable code
Financial industry knowledge in Capital Markets/Banking is a plus but not required
Knowledge of Data Management methodologies involving architecture, modeling, storage, security
Prior experience in data integration, interoperability, and data quality solutions.
Analytical and problem solver, excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Certification in Data Architecture / Modeling is a plus
