Network Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Principal Network Engineer to join our team and lead a critical project implementing and optimizing SD-WAN solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and optimize complex WAN and SD-WAN solutions
Architect and deploy large-scale, multi-site SD-WAN environments
Develop and implement WAN routing policies and traffic engineering strategies
Provide expert-level support and consultation on network architecture and design
Lead client engagements, presenting technical solutions and managing expectations
Develop and implement strategies for network optimization and routing convergence
Design and integrate cloud connectivity solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery
Optimize WAN routing for improved application performance and user experience
Implement and fine-tune SD-WAN policies for intelligent path selection and application prioritization
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team member
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in network architecture and engineering
Cisco CCIE certification or equivalent industry recognition
Extensive experience with Z-scaler platform, Fortinet, Palo Alto firewalls and SD-WAN technologies
Advanced knowledge of routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
Proven expertise in network optimization techniques
Strong background in cloud networking, including Azure ExpressRoute and AWS Direct Connect
Proficiency with load balancers (both cloud-based and on-premises)
Demonstrated ability in extensive network troubleshooting
Excellent client engagement and management skills
Advanced Technical Requirements:
In-depth understanding of SD-WAN architectures, including overlay networks, underlay networks, and transport-independent design
Expertise in WAN acceleration techniques and WAN optimization protocols (e.g., PBR, NBAR, QoS)
Proficiency in designing and implementing software-defined segmentation and micro-segmentation in SD-WAN environments
Experience with SD-WAN solutions from multiple vendors (e.g., Cisco SD-WAN, Fortinet FortiGate Secure SD-WAN, Sliver Peak, Palo Alto SD-WAN, VMware SD-WAN)
Strong knowledge of WAN routing protocols and their optimization, including BGP path selection, route summarization, and traffic engineering
Familiarity with application-aware routing and dynamic path selection in SD-WAN environments
Experience in integrating SD-WAN solutions with cloud services and SaaS applications
Understanding of SD-WAN security features, including next-generation firewalls, IPS, and encrypted tunnels
Proficiency in SD-WAN analytics and monitoring tools for performance optimization and troubleshooting
Knowledge of automation and orchestration in SD-WAN deployments, including experience with APIs and scripting languages
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with routing convergence optimization in large-scale WAN environments
Familiarity with a wide range of vendor solutions in the networking space
Track record of successful large-scale WAN/SD-WAN implementations
Experience with SD-WAN integration in hybrid and multi-cloud architectures
Knowledge of emerging technologies like SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) and their integration with SD-WAN
Additional:
Duration: 18+ month contract opportunity
