Responsibilities:
About The Role:

 

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. This critical role focuses on the operations and maintenance of our OCI environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. The OCI Cloud Engineer will oversee daily operations, including monitoring, managing, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure to guarantee high availability and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, automation, and system administration.

Regularly monitor the health of all OCI resources, establish automated health checks, and utilize integrated tools to quickly identify and respond to incidents using pre-defined response plans.

Collect and analyze performance metrics for key resources, leveraging OCI Monitoring to set alerts for any thresholds or anomalies to ensure optimal resource performance.

Apply necessary updates and patches to all OCI resources, managing regular maintenance windows to minimize downtime and ensure system stability.

Monitor resource utilization to maintain sufficient capacity for workloads, planning to scale resources up or down based on demand patterns.

Optimize the performance of OCI services by fine-tuning resource configurations, implementing load balancing and auto-scaling policies, and optimizing network setups, including VCNs, subnets, and gateways.

Monitor and enhance database performance using tools like Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Data Guard, applying techniques such as indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.

Manage user access and permissions through OCI Identity and Access Management (IAM), regularly reviewing and updating IAM policies to uphold the principle of least privilege.

Enable and monitor audit logs for all OCI resources, ensuring compliance with security policies through routine audits and using OCI Cloud Guard to detect and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities.

Ensure data encryption both at rest and in transit using OCI Vault, securely managing encryption keys and certificates while regularly scanning for vulnerabilities and applying security patches promptly.

Implement and manage cloud infrastructure components, including compute, storage, networking, and databases.

Automate cloud operations with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and OCI Resource Manager.

Collaborate with cloud architects to design and deploy scalable and resilient cloud solutions.

Troubleshoot and resolve incidents to ensure minimal downtime and disruption.

Oversee cloud security, focusing on identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.

Optimize cloud costs by monitoring usage and implementing cost-saving strategies.

Keep up-to-date with OCI updates, new features, and best practices.

Qualifications:
What Makes You A Dream Candidate?

Experience with Oracle E-Business R12.2, Fusion primarily in the following Oracle Financials, HCM modules.

Experience in BI reports, Cloud Minor.

Experience in FDI/VCN Configurations.

Experience in design and development of OIC/ODI/Apex customizations.

Experience with Unix/Linux Shell/firewalls.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, software library control and editing products

Knowledge of encryption and security protocols.

IDEs such as Cloud tools, SQL Navigator, PL-SQL Developer and JDeveloper
including performance tuning

Ability to interpret and write technical publications/diagrams, and project specifications

Good organizational and follow-up skills and ability to meet time sensitive deadlines

Ability to read and understand technical manuals and documentation pertaining to the operations of computer and software applications and equipment

Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills

Good oral and written communication skills

Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment

Promote a cooperative and productive team environment

Interpersonal skills to establish and nourish relationships with internal/external clients

Strong people skills including the ability to interact with employees at all levels

Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience required

7-10 years of IT experience in analysis, design, development, testing, documenting and production support of Oracle e-Business applications required, and cloud/fusion experience preferred 

5-7 years XML, JSON, XSLT and Web Services preferred
