Our client, a major entertainment/media firm located in NYC (Midtown), is looking to a Sr. Oracle Essbase and EPM Analyst/Developer. This is a full time position onsite 2 days a week position. The Senior Oracle Essbase and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Analyst Developer is a key member of the Corporate Systems team with a focus on supporting the financial decision making needs of worldwide users. This role centers around the use of the two tools used for this, namely Oracle Essbase and Oracle EPM.
This role includes day to day support work as well as a range of interesting and diverse, business critical projects. There will be regular interaction with business users. Some changes will need to be made outside of office hours. This role is for someone with at least five years of hands on experience in either (or ideally) both tools. The ideal candidate will have solid technical skills, with a good work ethic, be a team player and interact well with business colleagues. A "can do attitude with a focus on business outcomes is key. We are expanding our use of financial decision making and new generation planning tools and this role provides an exciting opportunity to learn and receive training in other planning / reporting software such as PowerBI.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Partnering with end users to modify / develop new Essbase cubes / EPM planning functions
Investigating and resolving Essbase / EPM issues
Completing appropriate project documentation
Carrying out on / off boarding of users
Assisting with periodic loading of data
Developing additional reporting in other tools such as PowerBI
Implementing major and minor system updates, some of these will need to be outside of office hours
Suggesting and implementing ideas to automate repetitive tasks
Answering periodic audit queries
Helping with disaster recovery testing
Providing advice and training to power users and other internal staff
Adhering to the change control process and operational model
Logging of service requests with Oracle
Participating in projects to move to new future planning platforms and systems
Key Relationships:
For both US domestic and international business units:
Finance staff and other end users
IT Operations / infrastructure teams
Finance Systems team members
Service Desks
3rd party vendors, such as Oracle
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrable hands on knowledge of Essbase and EPM
At least 5+ years experience of working with Essbase / EPM
Proven ability to resolve issues and develop long term and permanent solutions
Knowledge of Windows server scripting / scheduling is beneficial
Good basic financial understanding
Experience of Microsoft PowerBI is of benefit but is not essential, as training will be provided
Experience of working in an environment governed by change control
Strong interpersonal skills, including working with a range of stakeholders and colleagues
Organised, with a high degree of ownership and an ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Positive 'can do' attitude with a drive to deliver
A sense of urgency and ability to work at pace to deliver solutions quickly but accurately
A systematic, logical approach to fault finding and root cause
Ability and desire to learn without prompting
Salary 135-145k based upon experience
