Job Purpose: This position is intended to be a member of the investigation team, working on a combination of complex software issue investigation as well as software development items for a medical imaging product.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop product features from internal and external customer requirements and clinical feedback.

Apply standard technologies to software design, implementation and testing.

Work closely with other team members to coordinate assignments and communicate progress and/or difficulties.

Investigate and resolve complex runtime software issues received from varying sources in a timely manner.

Understand requirements both from user’s perspective and technical details.

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software.

Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Design and implement components and applications to meet requirements

Developing and maintaining software.

Developing unit tests and integration tests.

Performing unit testing of the code.

Maintaining existing code and design.

Providing input, solutions, and recommendations.

Understand and propose software design.

Understand and propose requirements and assess their feasibility.

Assist junior members on regular basis or in ad hoc situations.

Participate in design and code reviews and understand and enforce importance of coding standards.

Understanding the importance of medical patient safety related to the product and enforcing it in the software.

Troubleshooting complex problems.

Performance and scalability tuning.

Performing with other duties as assigned.

Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications:

BS or BE in Computer Science or related field.

5-7 years of experience in software development.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proven problem-solving skills.

Strong software development discipline.

Design and development of complex software components, including experience of web technologies, writing software that handles multiple threads/processes.

Able to identify debugging strategies in complex software environments.

Skilled investigation, diagnosis and resolution of performance issues.

Familiar with requirements analysis, design control documentation, revision control, and use of bug tracking tools in order to ensure software quality.

Assertive team player with demonstrated initiative.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Experience in programming with languages such as Java, Groovy, and Javascript.

Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.

Ability to quickly learn our application and be able to maintain existing and develop new features.

Proven problem-solving skills.

Team player with demonstrated initiative.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Desired

MSc in Computer Science.

Experience with medical-related protocols, such as DICOM and HL7.

Previous experience in back end PACS development.
