Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe IMS DB Systems-DBA / System Programmer to manage, maintain, and optimize our mission-critical IMS database environments. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and integrity of our IMS databases, which are essential to our business operations. Your expertise will be vital in supporting application development teams, troubleshooting database issues, and ensuring the smooth running of our IMS-based systems.
Responsibilities:
Install, Upgrade, Patch, Configure & Manage IMS v15.x
Applying IBM recommended RSU maintenance
Designing new IMS DB environment based on the business/application team requirement
Understand and configure the IMS-DB2 connectivity and IMS-CICS connectivity
Understanding of DBD, PSB & ACB and performing ACB swap
Reviewing the Buffer allocation and fine tune the memory based on the workload
Log management, knowledge on different database type database structure & Compression
IMS backup and restore, DR support
IMS system configuration changes and performance tuning of the system
Monitor IMS DB performance and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency & response times.
Investigate and resolve database-related issues, including debugging problems, troubleshooting errors, and implementing solutions for database performance enhancements.
