Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as a Salesforce Developer for our IT Business Office. This is a remote, work from home opportunity and you may be based outside of the greater Chicagoland area.
The Salesforce Developer supports a work stream in a complex Academic Medical Center environment and will execute key deliverables to achieve the project and ongoing enterprise vision. The developer is a hands-on Salesforce engineer with deep technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. The developer will work closely with the business to design, develop, and deploy. You will be part of a team that is driving digital transformation at a leading Academic Medical Center in a greenfield environment. This is a unique opportunity to join the UCM team and create unique solutions in the provider technology landscape that will significantly increase patient access to world class healthcare.
Essential Job Functions
Lead technical design; architect and document technical solutions aligned with key business objectives; help identify gaps between current and desired states
Develop solutions within the Salesforce platform to support critical business functions and meet business objectives using both configuration and development
Leverage Salesforce's out-of-the box functionality and identify appropriate opportunities to customize. Collaborate with other product teams to integrate data and functionality to advance the organization's strategic direction
Participate in the full software development life cycle: technical design, development, testing, deployment, and production solution
Understand and use Salesforce APIs to integrate with external systems and data
Participate in new initiatives/projects discussions with business and develop technical solutions based on discussions
Actively engage with technical, product, and business teams. Collaborate with appropriate technology partners to implement enhancements and improvements that solve business problems
In coordination with the Health Cloud Admin, provide daily support and maintenance of an internal Salesforce instance and conduct long-term improvements to operations
Provide system administration support for the Salesforce environment, especially related to customized applications, user permissions, security settings, custom objects, and workflow
Assist business users as needed during UAT, troubleshooting and resolving implementation and integration issues
Own technical and functional specifications, maintain documentation
Establish and maintain best practice standards on documentation and code structures
Respond to application issues
Track and manage tickets
Engage with IT Leadership on managing any managed services agreements
Escalate when necessary
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
7+ years of experience as a Salesforce developer
Salesforce implementation experience
3+ years of Salesforce Health Cloud experience
3+ years’ experience in Salesforce Lightning, APEX programming, LWC, APIs, and SOQL
Exposure to health/EMR data (Epic datasets)
Experience with Omnistudio: Omniscripts, Flexcards, Data Mappers, and Integration Procedures
Certified in Omnistudio Developer, Platform Developer I & II preferred
Strong practical deployment knowledge of Salesforce configurations
5+ years’ experience working with an RDBMS such as MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server
3+ years’ experience with HTML, XML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience with Salesforce web services and API’s (REST, SOAP, Bulk)
Familiarity with security standards such as TLS, SSL, SSO and data encryption
Hands-on experience with customization (Apex Triggers, Classes & Visual Force), configuration (Formulas, Workflows, Approval processes, Custom objects and fields, Sharing Rules, Page layouts, Record types, Permission Sets, Reports, and Dashboards)
Experience in developing integrating solutions using MS Tools, (url removed) APIs, and 3rd party APIs
Proficient in working with MS SQL databases
Experience mentoring, coaching and training developers from ground up in Salesforce
Familiarity using DevOps tools such as Microsoft ADO and Copado
