Job Description
Analyze and Optimize Transportation Processes: Evaluate current transportation processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
Develop and Implement Solutions: Create and implement strategies to enhance transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and warehouse management to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
Monitor Performance Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation and logistics to ensure goals are met.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with transportation service providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with service agreements.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the transportation process and develop mitigation strategies.
Technology Integration: Implement and manage transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant technologies to streamline operations.
Educational Background: A bachelor s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., APICS, PMP) are often preferred.
Experience: Several years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on transportation and logistics.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and improve transportation processes.
Project Management: Experience in managing projects and leading cross-functional teams.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and other supply chain software.
